Danish Pleated Paper Hearts

Though nobody knows the original purpose of heart-shaped pleated paper basket (Julehjerter in Danish) that came from Denmark and Northern Germany now it is mostly used as Christmas decoration. The oldest known pleated heart was made by famous Danish children writer H. C. Andersen in 1860. Now this ornament is a most popular Christmas ornament in Scandinavian countries (Denmark, Sweden, Norway). There are so many creative ways to make it. They can be made out of paper:
